Should You Get A Root Canal?

You'll want to discuss this with your dentist in detail, of course.

Here are some things to keep in mind.

1. You have a right to a second, third, fourth or more opinions from other dentists.  And opinions can vary widely!  So keep that in mind.

2.  A root canal essentially means the tooth will be dead.   This will often cause the tooth to turn brown and necessitate a crown.

3. Crown work may not last forever and may need to be done again at some point.  The same is true for fillings as well.

4.  If there is any possibility of saving that tooth, you may want to look for a doctor who will help you to do that.

5.  You can check out a book on root canals here.    Information is power.  Making a good decision is based on good information.

I hope you found this useful.  If so, please sound off in the comment section below.
