How To Use The HydroFloss Oral Irrigator

Transcript - How To Use Your Hydro Floss

Hello, this is Dave with ToothyGrinsStore.com  and today
we are going to talk about how to use your HydroFloss.   Not just how to use it, but how to use it properly.

I think a lot of people don't know this and they certainly don't teach others how to do it, unfortunately.  But I'm going to tell you how here.

Of course, you are going to have some questions.  Actually, you should have questions.  888-586-6849, I'm available personally.  I can talk to you and help answer your questions about this machine and how to use it effectively.

Not only just how to use it but how to measure or guage your results utilizing the services of your dentist or hygienist.  There are isa very objective way for you to know if you are making improvement or not.

So, let's get started.  The proper use of the HydroFloss is to use the HydroFloss - 2 reservoirs, twice per day.  That's 4 total reservoirs per day.

That would be 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening.  This is perhaps the best way to do it.

This is a reservoir.  This part where you see the water.  That's a reservoir.  So you fill that up to the top.  Use it once.  Fill it up again, the second time, that's your morning treatment.

Use it in the evening.  Use it twice in the evening.  So fill up one reservoir and then use it and fill up another one and use it and that is your evening treatment.

These tips are all exactly the same.  There are different colors so that different members of the family can all benefit from using the HydroFloss.

This is a powerful machine.  If you use it the way I described, you may see much greater results than you would otherwise see by not knowing what I just told you.  It\s very important.

That is how to use the HydroFloss properly.  That's the best practice as determined by the manufacturer.  And it does seem to produce the best results for the most people.

Often times when I occasionally here from someone who doesn't get good resuts, I ask them,  "Are you using two reservoirs, twice per day"   And almost always, almost every single time except one, the person has said no, that they were not using it properly.

So, when you use it the way I just described, you increase or improve your chances of seeing benefits and results from using this machine which is really the best oral irrigator out there bar none!

There is a very special reason for that.  And again, if you have questions, you can call me at the number at the top of your screen.

I will also say that you always want to be under the care of your periodontist or dentist.  They can help you and I can tell you how they can measure your results and how you can monitor your results and see if you are actually making improvement or not.

Unfortunately,  as one dentist said, "many people are headed for gum surgery and they don't know it".   The sad fact of the matter is that about 75% of people have some gum disease right now.  That's what the dental professionals tell us.  Seventy-five percent, that's 3 out of every 4 people.

As that condition progresses without doing anything about it, that's when real damage occurs to the tissue that supports your teeth.   So, you definitely want to keep your peirodontal health under control.

It's very important.  You can work with your periodontist and your hygienist or your regular dentist to make that happen.

This can be a very important piece of that puzzle for you.

Again, this is Dave with ToothyGrinsStore.com.  I hope that this video was helpful to you.  I hope that you will like this video, share it with others so that others can find it and gain this important information as well.

Again this is Dave with ToothyGrinsStore.com.  Give me a call at the number at the top of your screen. You should have questions and I will be happy to answer them for you.

If I am not there, leave a message and I can always call you back.    Again, this is Dave with ToothyGrinsStore.com  thanks for watching.  Please subscribe to this channel and like this video.  Have a great day.

Hydro Floss question resolution : My Hydro Floss Doesn't Turn On - Video

I'm glad that I was able to help Phyllis out.   She told me her Hydro Floss is four years old.   Keep in mind to check everything out first before assuming you need to buy a new one.

On the other hand, people love the Hydro Floss because many people have found it to be an excellent tool to help maintain or achieve better dental health.   The cost of the Hydro Floss at $98 is not bad at all.   Just think about how much it costs to fill one cavity, get one root canal, have one tooth pulled.

When you think about it, the cost of the Hydro Floss is really small.   If you can avoid even one of those problems even one time, isn't it more than worth it?   It is.

Now think about using the HF for a lifetime.  How much more might you save.   Even if you have to buy a new one in x amount of years, it is still more than worth it, isn't it?   It is!

Now consider that one single Hydro Floss comes with 4 color coded tips - that's enough for a family of four people!    If you have more people in your family you can buy an inexpensive package of additional tips.

So you see.  You can really, really get your money out of a Hydro Floss.   Every family should consider having one of these.

If you need to understand what it can do for you further, read more about it, or pick up the cost free guide: How To Stop Gum Disease In 4 Easy Steps.

Sincerely,

Should I Use Purified Water Or Tap Water In My HydroFloss - Video Response

You definitely want to use tap water or spring water (because it has minerals in it). Purified water does not contain minerals.

This is a powerful tool to help you improve / maintain your dental health.

The best part is that you can verify  your results through the 'periodontal pocket depths' measurement taken by your hygienist or dentist before and after using the Hydro Floss!

And that my friends, makes this machine a beautiful thing!

The End....

Ok, I'll say a little more.   You might have a question or two.  Feel free to call us at 888-586-6849 and ask for David for a free, no obligation conversation.    He can answer your questions and help you figure out if this is the right tool for you.

Sincerely,

How To HydroFloss

The Hydro Floss Oral Irrigator

Thanks to Foster Dental Care's hygienist for sharing this video.

A few things to add:   The hydro floss is a powerful tool the reason was not mentioned in the video.

Using the technology of a special magnet, the hydro floss is able to cause plaque and bacteria to become less adhesive and therefore they come off the teeth and around the gums much more easily.
This is why the Hydro Floss is more effective than other irrigators.   This more than makes up for the price difference.

Many dentists and hygienists are recommending the Hydro Floss.  There is good reason for that.  It works!

It is also important to learn how to use your Hydro Floss effectively.  This information was also not covered in the video.    But, you can read about it here:

I also have a full copy of he instructions that come with each Hydro Floss wich you can view here.

With this additional information, I think you will have better insight into why you should use the hydro floss and how to get more out of your use of it.

If you have questions that were not answered here on this page or you just want to talk to someone knowledgeable about this product, give us a call at 1-888-586-6849.

How To Use Your Hydro Floss Effectively

Read More About The HydroFloss Here

The best practice for using your Hydro Floss is to use two reservoirs, twice per day.   The directions that come with it do state to use two reservoirs per use.  But they do not make it clear that you should use the HydroFloss twice per day.

This can make a big difference in your dental health.   When used correctly, there have been many people that have measurable changes when they are examined by their hygienist or dentist.

This is why many dentist and hygienists are recommending the hydrofloss to their patients.   They see the results in real life!

Occasionally, I have spoken to a few people who were not seeing great results.   I sometimes ask them how often / much are they using their hydrofloss.   I almost always find out that they are not using it correctly.

One person I spoke with said she was using 1/4 of a reservoir every other day!

I have heard many other variations on use too.   I want those folks to know that if they use their Hydro Floss correctly, they might experience a measurable reduction in their periodontal pocket depths.   It is the hygienist or dentist who will take those measurements and confirm any changes for you.

Generally speaking, most dentist will consider your gums healthy if your pocket depths are 3mm or less. Above that, generally speaking,  many professionals will say that your gums are not healthy.

Gum disease is pretty serious stuff.   It can lead to tooth loss.   Keeping those pocket depths to the correct levels can make a big difference.  Doing so might keep the bacteria at small enough concentrations that they cannot begin to destroy the gum tissue and bone - as they do in gum disease.

Sadly,  many or most  people have some gum disease.   They just don't know it. That is unfortunate.    Of course, you always want to work  with your dentist.  Get your advice, diagnosis and treatment from your dentist.

But as I mentioned before,  many dentists and hygienists are suggesting the Hydro Floss to their patients for good reason.

How To Make Your HydroFloss Quiet

Very occasionally,  I hear from a customer who complains that the HydroFloss is too loud.   It IS about as loud as a hair dryer turned to the "hi" position.

The good news is that there is a very quick fix for this problem.   All you will want to do is fold a hand towel in half  and place it under the Hydro Floss.   This makes a very significant reduction in sound when using your machine.

Generally, customers are very happy about their Hydro Floss Oral Irrigators,  you can review the 'over 9 pages' of reviews that we have here:

http://www.toothygrinsstore.com/ReviewsList.asp?ProductCode=HydroFloss01&Reviews=Y

It's Really The Best

The Hydro Floss really is the best irrigator in my opinion.   It can do something for your dental health that other irrigators don't seem to be able to do.

The studies done shows that it reduces plaque and tartar build up between office visits about twice as much as irrigators that don't use its special magnetic technology.

That may translate to less dental health problems, such as cavities, gum disease, bad breath and more.

In fact, there is an objective way to measure  your results.  Compare your periodontal pocket depths (your dentist should have these on file) from before using your Hydro Floss to about 1 month after using it properly.

You might find that there is a big difference as measured by your dentist, periodontist or hygienist.
They will be able to tell you if it is working or not for you.

There may be other pathways to improved dental health.  But this particular item seems to do more than other ways and it seems to do it quicker.   Read more on the Hydro Floss.

Important Safeguards

When using electrical applicances, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including, but not limited to the following:

Precautions - In case where the physician or cardiologist has advised antibiotic premedication before dental procedures, consultation is recommended before using this product or any other hygiene aid.

Caution-  This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).  To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.  If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.  If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.  House use only.

Instructions for Use

  1. Fill the reservoir with lukewarm tap water.  Do not use distilled water.
  2. Insert the plug into a 110-120 Volt A.C. outlet.
  3. Insert the jet tip into the opening on the handle. Push down firmly until jet tip snaps into place
  4. Turn pressure control knob to the "High" setting.
  5. Direct the jet tip into the bottom of the sink basin and turn the the on/off knob to the "On" position.
  6. As soon as water begins to flow from the jet tip, press the water stop button on the handle, and turn the pressure control knob to the setting that you intend to use, that is comfortable to you.
  7. Direct the stream of water towards the gumline at 90 degrees, so that contact is made where the tooth and gums meet.
  8. Maneuver the flow of water from tooth to tooth, remembering to pause briefly between each tooth.
  9. Two full reservoirs should be used during each use.
Empty any water remaining in the reservoir after use.  Never leave water in the reservoir when your Hydro Floss is not in use.

Special Tips For Use

  1. Irrigating is a technique that relies on your sense of touch. Therefore, it is a food idea to PRACTICE while watching yourself in the mirror, without filling the reservoir or turning on the Hydro Floss.  This will allow you to see the technique you will use.  Pick a starting point and move the jet tip along your gums and between your teeth. As you practice, watch your movements and remember how it feels.
  2. While Irrigating, bend at the waist or tilt your head down over the sink.  Leave your mouth partially open and keep your elbow raised. This allows the water to fall into the sink and will keep you and your bathroom surfaces dry.  DO NOT attempt to watch yourself in the mirror.   You will make a mess.
  3. Do not twist the entire handle of your Hydro Floss to achieve the correct irrigating angle. Instead, twist the jet tip itself. The handle design allows the jet tip to be twisted while the irrigator is operating.   Twisting the handle will ultimately cause the hose to uncoil and / or kink.
  4. Be sure to press the reservoir down firmly when returning it to its place on the base of the Hydro Floss. You may use a cup to fill the reservoir. This is easier and less messy.
  5. The Hydro Floss may take five to ten seconds to begin pumping upon initial use. This is normal.
  6. Always leave the reservoir lid on while not in use.
  7. You may add two or three capfuls of your favorite mouth risne to the water in the reservoir.
DO NOT add soda, salt or any other abrasive substance to the water in the reservoir as doing so will damage your Hydro Floss, and void the warranty.

 Cleaning

Daily

  1. Always unplug your Hydro Floss before cleaning.
  2. Remove the reservoir and wipe dry both the inside and outside surfaces.
  3. Wipe dry the base and handle fo the Hydro Floss.
Be sure to wipe dry the bathroom surfaces under and around the Hydro Floss.

Weekly

  1. Always unplug your Hydro Floss before cleaning.
  2. Fill the reservoir with very warm water.
  3. Turn the pressure control knob to the "High" setting.
  4. Remove jet tips and place handle in the bottom of the sink.
  5. Frimly turn the on/off knob to the "On" position and let reservoir empty into the sink.
  6. Repeat steps two to five.
  7. Be sure to dry your Hydro Floss as described in the steps for Daily Cleaning.
Note: A mild cleanser may be used on the surfaces of the base, the reservoir and the jet tips. Never immerse base or handle in water.

Do NOT Put Baking Soda Into Your Hydro Floss

Repeat: Please Do Not Put Baking Soda Into Your Hydro Floss

I know that there are more than a few good healers and doctors out there who tell people about the power of the Hydro Floss.  Some are very public about it and have a large audience.

I commend them greatly for that because it is truly a service to public health when more people understand what the HydroFloss oral irrigator is and what it can do for them.    I also  know that many people, after discovering the results they obtain, want to tell others about this wonderful tool.

When their dentist or hygienist tells them how much healthier their gums are looking, it is exciting.  To know that you will avoid expensive treatments and possibly avoid the loss of teeth as well is not just a relief, it is a victory

I agree that the Hydro Floss is exactly what nearly every family needs.  I do NOT agree when well meaning people tell people to put baking soda into their Hydro Floss.

The Reasons

First of all, it is not necessary to do that.   The Hydro Floss is a powerful tool that works well on tap water alone.  You do not have to put anything extra into it.   You can read my guide to more fully understand the reasons why.

Second, it can damage the machine.   Without the Hydro Floss working, the person who own's it loses all of the benefits.

If you Must Use Baking Soda

If you must use baking soda, why not just simply put a teaspoon in a full cup of water and make a mouthwash out of it?

You can use it separately from your Hydro Floss.   Just do not put it IN your Hydro Floss it can destroy the machine.

I also feel compelled to say that you should not brush your teeth with baking soda, I will explain why in a separate post sometime.

In any case, you definitely should not put baking soda in your Hydro Floss.

Thanks again to those people with a large audience who are telling people about the Hydro Floss.

I hope that I adequately explained why you should NOT use or tell people to put baking soda in their Hydro Floss machines.

In actuality, you don't need to.   You can read how to get the most out of your Hydro Floss AND measure your results objectively with this guide that I personally wrote.

If you have any questions, please do feel free to call me at the number below.
