Something Cool Happened Yesterday

There was a domain that expired on me about 1 1/2 years ago.  I didn't know because I did not get any notifications.    I found out when one of my income streams dried up.

After investigating I found out that the domain registrar that I had it registered at took it for themselves.  And they wanted almost $500.

I was really unhappy.   I thought, I'm not going to pay $500, I'll wait a year to see if they will drop it and I can pick it up again.

Well, they didn't drop it.

I finally transferred my last domain with them away yesterday.  THEN, I get an email.  "Could you tell us why you left.".

Uh Yeah, I can tell you.  Give me a call...


They actually called!   I wasn't able to reach anyone on their support line, nor on any of the other numbers I had.

But, when I left, they wanted to know why.

I explained the situation.


Good NEWS:  They gave my domain back to me at no charge!  

Now,  that is really great.   I thanked them and told them that I will keep that domain with them for as long as I have it.   I also paid for 10 years of registration up front for it - to return the favor.

It's also good for them because I might have talked about the problem to people.  Now, I won't name them because I am delighted that they 'did the right thing'.

I never expected that, especially after I read bad reviews and could not reach anyone there.

I thought I was never going to get my domain back!    But I did.

So, good things do happen sometimes!
