You credit information needs to be safe. We don't store your credit data here at Toothy Grins Store for more than a few days. After that, it is out of the system and there is no way to retrieve it.
Compare that to big companies and even certain retailers who store your data 'for your convenience'.

Wrong answer. They brashly believe (or want you to believe) that your data is secure with them. How many times have you heard the NEWS that yet another big company has been compromised?
The best policy is to quickly purge this information so that it cannot be found inside a compromised system.
