Bleeding Gums Are A Bad Sign, It Is Important To Take Action Now.

There are many people who mistakenly believe that it is normal for gums to bleed when brushing or flossing.   That's actually not the case.

If your gums are bleeding, you should definitely be under the care of a dentist or, perhaps even better, a periodontist.

However What You Do At Home Is Very Important

You might get your teeth cleaned and checked every 3 months, maybe even every single month.  But, what you do every day is going to have the most impact.

Since your dentist cannot be with you every day, most of the burden of solving this problem is going to fall on you.

A Lost Tooth Could Cost You Two Thousand Or More Dollars

The cost of a single implant can run around $2000 or even higher.   Many people have multiple implants.

They have a lot of money wrapped up in their mouths.

How can you avoid running into the same fate?   I guess it would make the most sense to look at what causes tooth loss and try to prevent that, right?

prevent losing teethThe primary cause of tooth loss, you can ask any dental professional about this, is gum disease.  It's a serious problem that many people have.  Perhaps as many as 3 out of every 4 people have some gum disease.

What can prevent or reverse gum disease?

The answer to that question can vary from person to person.  I should point out that if you have gum disease or think you might, you should be under the care of a dentist or periodontist.  This is critical.

Most people with gum disease have periodontal pocket depths (something that your hygienist or dentist can measure) of 3mm or greater.

Generally speaking, most dental professionals would say that any depths above 3mm are a problem.  Also, generally speaking, 3mm and below is considered healthy.

Therefore, you want to get all of your periodontal pocket depths to 3mm and below.

If the gums are healthy at that point, you have successfully avoided the number on cause of tooth loss!

One Way This Can Happen.

This has worked for many people.  Nothing works 100%  of the time for 100% of the people.  But here is the process in a nutshell.

Find out what your current periodontal pocket readings are.   Use the HydroFloss for at least a month.

And then go back to your dental health professional and see if your readings have improved or returned to the 3mm and below levels that are generally considered healthy.

If so, that was a success - if confirmed to be so by your dentist or periodontist.

Continue to use the HF and get your regular cleanings and checkups. Always inquire about those pocket depths so that you can keep an eye on them.   Good work!

How Do I Stop My Gums From Bleeding?

Answer:  This is a situation that needs to be checked out by your dentist or periodontist right away.  The most likely cause is gum disease, but you need someone to rule out other possibilities.

Gum Disease is very prevalent.  Many dental professionals will say that about 75% of people have this problem.

Regardless of who you talk to or what numbers they give, it is clear:  Many people have gum disease and most people don't know it.

Periodontal pockets are one of the key measures that a periodontist will use to determine if you have gum disease or not.

Therefore, you want those pockets to become smaller, assuming that your problem is gum disease.

stop bleeding gumsThis machine has helped many people, including myself, in this regard. The good news is that you can use it at home and then have your periodontist / dentist verify if your pockets have shrunk.

Isn't that elegant and simple?  Of course, you want to use the machine properly.

Also, nothing under the sun will work 100% of the time for 100% of the people.  But your doctor can help you verify if your gums are healthier.  Of course, if you see the bleeding stop, that would be a good thing too, right?

Even though it is elegant and simple, you may still have some questions.  And I like to answer this type of question.  So give us a call at 1-888-586-6849.   Ask for me, David.  No obligation, just conversation.

Otherwise, read more about the Hydro Floss now.

Customer Develops an Understanding

What do I do here at Toothy Grins Store?

Yesterday a customer was very kind to say that something about my website spoke out to her.  Then when she called me, she felt even more strongly that there was a certain level of 'integrity' (or something like that) that is hard to find.

What's unique about me and Toothy Grins Store?   I have an unusual set of experiences and knowledge based on personal experience and conversations with hundreds of customers and quite a few dental professionals.

I wrote a book on gum disease.

All of the above adds up to a unique understanding based on learning, understanding, questioniong and hearing about the experiences of others plus my own personal experiences.

I mean this in the most gentle, nicest way possible: Most people are relatively ignorant about their own dental health.   When confronted with a situation it is difficult for the person to know which way to turn or what to do.

If you have a problem in this area, you should definitely be under the care and guidance of your dentist or periodontist.  They can provide you with the advice, diagnosis and treatment that you need.

But, I can talk about this topic.  And that is what I do, I simply talk about it.  Somehow, people appreciate and like that.

It's no secret that I talk about the Hydro Floss a lot.   Why?  Because from talking to so many people, I have found that it provides the greatest benefits to the greatest number of people when it is used properly.

I also know that people can learn a lot from my book: What You Should Know About Gum Disease.
There is more there than just recommending one product.

You see, there is a difference between learning about tools and techniques and having an understanding.  It's not just about the mechanics, the tools or the methods.  Understanding the underlying principles can make a big difference and put one's mind at ease.

How To Get Rid Of Bleeding Gums

The first thing you really need to understand is that your gums should NOT bleed with normal brushing and flossing.   That's just not good.

You may have gum disease.  You want to go to a periodontist and get a proper diagnosis.  This is important.

If you have gum disease

If you have gum disease, you are not alone.   3 out of every 4 people have some.

This is one of the most widely spread problems that afflicts mankind.  But, just because that is true, does not mean that you should except it BECAUSE:

Gum disease is also the number one reason that people lose their teeth

Here is a nice protocol you can try

This is contingent upon approval and monitoring by your periodontist or dentist.  This is always important to make sure that true improvement happens and that things don't go out of control.

Find out what your current periodontal pocket depths are.   This is something your dentist can tell you.   Generally speaking, anything above 3mm is considered problematic by most dental health providers.   Conversely,  3mm and below is, generally speaking, considered healthy.

Therefore the end goal is to get to 3mm and below - as measured by your dentist or hygienist! \

Try this

After you know what your pocket depths are and you have approval from your doctor to try this:

1.  Use the Hydro Floss - two reservoirs / twice per day for at least 1 month

2.  Have your dentist measure your pocket depths again.   Completely better?  Or, making improvement?    GREAT - keep going and maintain once the goal is completely achieved.

If you are one of the few that this doesn't work for (hey, nothing works for everyone) your dentist will offer you a treatment plan.    But, trying this first has the POTENTIAL to save you a lot of money!

Sound confusing or complicated?

Yes,  I think it can be both confusing and seem complicated when exposed to new information that you didn't have before.  You may very well have questions such as:   Why has no one pointed this out to me before?   Or: It sounds great, but I don't quite understand everything.

As I mentioned those thoughts are quite normal.

I can help you get your questions answered.   To call me or contact me doesn't cost anything and there is certainly no obligation.  Getting the right information to you so that you can figure out what is best for you is the purpose.

Here are two ways to reach me:

1. This is the preferred method.  It is quick, easy and the most efficient.  Just give us a call at 1-888-586-6849 and ask for me, David.

2.  You can also reach out to me on skype.  Have you skype client opened and click this link:
http://tobeinformed.com/askdave   Choose 'open application' if prompted.

Whatever you do is going to be up to you.  But, now that you have been exposed to this information, it would be good if you could fully understand it.    So use one of the contact methods above.  You are invited to do so.

Your Gums Should Not Bleed When You Brush Or Floss

your gums should not bleed Bleeding gums are really not normal at all.  Most of the time it is a sign that you have gum disease.  You will need  your periodontist to examine you and give you a diagnosis.

Barring a few other things your periodontist may rule out, the most likely cause is gum disease.  You wouldn't be alone though as 3 out of 4 people, according to dental professionals, have gum disease.

That's 75% of people!  Yet, most people have no idea they have this problem.  On the other hand, I would guess that gum disease accounts for billions of dollars just in costly dental surgeries, gum grafts and dental implants alone!

What You Can Do

I'm going to assume that you have been to the dentist or periodontist and you know you have gum disease.   You will want to work with and under the supervision of your doctor at all times.

One of the key objective indicators of gum disease are your periodontal pocket depths.  Generally speaking your periodontist will consider your gums unhealthy when they are above 3mm.

Conversely,  most periodontists, generally speaking, would say that your gums are healthy when you have no pocket depths above 3mm.

Therefore, your goal is to get to 3mm and below!

A Relatively Effective Way to Achieve This

Nothing will work 100% of the time for 100% of the people, that is impossible.  But I have something that worked for me personally and many other people too.

That is the HydroFloss oral irrigator.

What you do with it is use it twice per day with two full reservoirs (place where the water goes) per use for a solid month.   After that, visit your periodontist again and see if your pocket depths have shrunk down.

If so, simply keep up the routine.   If not, then you have to tweak and alter what you are doing at home until you achieve the desired results - as measured by your periodontist or hygienist.

I tried many things, but in the end it was the Hydro Floss that gave me the results I was looking for.  Now you know the secret to proving whether it will work for you or not too!

Read more about it.

Stopping Bleeding Gums

Bleeding gums are quite often a sign of gum disease.   You will want your dentist to give you a diagnosis and rule out anything else.

Once that is done, you might be faced with the prospect of spending a lot of money to solve this problem.   Unfortunately, gum disease is the number 1 cause of tooth loss.

I advocate working under the care of your periodontist at all times.   Let your Periodontist check your results and verify improvement (if any).

I have a specific methodology to tackle the problem of gum disease.  Since you will be working with your dentist, he can monitor and verify your results.

You can learn about this method by reading  : How To Stop Gum Disease In 4 Easy Steps

This is the tool that I discuss in that publication - It is also the one I believe to be the most effective.

------

Here is the problem.:  I've been told that 99% of people download these reports and never read them!

I know, that's crazy right?   No one wants to go 50% of the way and then quit.

So,  I know the chances are good that you are not going to read this report - even after it is on your computer!

That's a shame.  Because I  have some valuable things to share.  Perhaps you can save yourself a lot of money and some or all of your teeth?    How much would that be worth.

Like I said, most people will download the report but never read it.

I allow people to call me and ask questions.  I'm at 1-888-586-6849.  That includes those who don't read the information I suggested, but it would be better if you did!

For people that don't want to talk on the phone, you can contact me on Skype as well:  just clickthe link below  This is two way communication, you will be able to chat with me and I will chat back.

Here is link to connect on Skype.

I think it would be a good idea to call instead, but I leave the Skype option open for those who aren't ready to talk on the phone.

The purpose of the call or the chat will simply be to figure out what is best for you and whether I have something to share that will align with YOUR goal for  yourself.

If there is an alignment, I'll explain further.

If there is not an alignment, you will walk away with some good / free information that you may find very helpful and good.

In ANY case, if you have bleeding gums, please take action by visiting a periodontist ASAP.

Sincerely,

Are Your Adult Teeth Loose?

do you have loose teeth or a lose toothPlease, if you have any adult teeth that are loose, go visit a periodontist right away.  Barring trauma or injury, a loose tooth probably indicates that you have some more advanced stages of gum disease.

This ain't gingivitis anymore Toto.

Seriously,  aside from an injury or accident, adult teeth really should not become loose.  The probability is quite high that you have gum disease.  Please go to a periodontist for proper diagnosis.

Gum disease is a topic that few people bother to talk or think about.  That is a shame because it affects about 75% or 3 out of every 4 people - according to many dental professionals.

So, why is it that everyone ignores this problem that causes the loss of teeth and the need for dentures or implants?    That's a question that I have been trying to answer for a very long time.

The truth is, I do not know why people ignore it so much!

Saving Your Teeth

If you could save your teeth and keep them for a lifetime of good use, wouldn't that be the absolute best?   Why settle for dentures or implants.

If you want to save your teeth, you need to understand what gum disease is and what you can do to control it and stop its progress.  You need to understand and figure out what it takes for you, personally, to make your gums health again.

For many, probably most people, it is possible to stop the progress of gum disease and make your gums healthy again.   The trick is knowing what it takes for your personally!

Objective Measure

Because the amount of work required varies from person to person, you need a measure or standard to figure out what is working.  You need to be able to determine if you are making progress or not.

Without this objective measure, it is just too much like guessing.   Fortunately, an objective measure DOES exist.    If you learn anything here, this might be the most important factor for you to understand.

Generally speaking, most dental practitioners will say your gums are healthy when your periodontal pocket depths are at 3mm or below.

Now, you just need to have your dentist or hygienist measure where you are now.  (They should already have these measurements in your records.)  And you simply check this against future measurements to determine whether:

1. What you are doing at home is working or not.

2. You are headed in the right directions

3. When you finally achieve the goal of 3mm and below - everywhere in your mouth.

What Helps?

There are two important resources that I want to share with you.  Yes, we sell them both here at Toothy Grins Store.

1.  The book:  What You Should Know About Gum Disease

2. The Hydro Floss Oral Irrigator

You can even get them both together in one package.

Conclusion

It is definitely not normal to have adult teeth that are loose.  If this is the case for you, please visit a periodontist immediately - if not sooner.

This is not a problem you want to 'let go'.  If the looseness is due to gum disease (and it likely is), then you do not have much time if you want to save your tooth or teeth.  Go see a periodontist today.   Tip:  Find one that wants to save your tooth / teeth and not one who just wants to pull it / them and give you an implant or dentures!

I believe you will find the resource links above useful,  you should consider these things carefully.  You should make it a goal to save all of your teeth or as many as you can.   Artificial things are not a perfect substitute for your real, natural teeth.

If you need further information or want to talk further, you can reach me at the above number or  contact me on Skype.

Stop Bleeding Gums And Reduce Your Chances Of Lost Teeth And Expensive Dental Treatments

bleeding gums are not a good sign! Gums should not bleed with normal brushing or flossing.

If that is happening to you, there is a good chance that you have gum disease.  You will want to visit your periodontist for a diagnosis.

Don't worry, you are not alone.  Dental professionals tell us that about 3 out of every 4 people have gum disease.   Bleeding is not always present when there is gum disease.  But many times, it is.

Gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss

This is the reason that you want stop it from progressing further.   No one wants to lose a tooth or experience an expensive and potentially painful advanced treatment in an attempt to save the gums and teeth.

You only have so much bone and tissue supporting the teeth.  Protect it as well as you can.

Objective Measures.

It's difficult for people to just go by someone saying that they do or do not have gum disease.  So here is something objective you can use.

Generally speaking, periodontal pocket depths of greater than 3mm are considered to be unhealthy by many or most dental professionals.

On the other hand, generally speaking, many or most dentist will say that your gums are healthy when your periodontal pockets are at 3mm and below.

Who takes these measurements?  Either your dentist or hygienist.   Further more, they can chart these numbers for you and you can compare from visit to visit where  you are at.   This is the way you can tell if what you are doing at home is working or not.

These periodontal pocket depths become important for you to know if you hope to stop the progression of gum disease and get your gums back to a healthy state again.

Suggestions

By using the measurement criteria above, in addition to working with your dentist or hygienist, you can figure out what is working for you.

What has worked for many people, myself included?    It is the Hydro Floss oral irrigator.

Is it the right machine for you?   Maybe.  Very possibly.    But I want to help you make sure and feel comfortable that it IS the right choice for you.   Therefore, you can call me at 1-888-586-6849 for a no obligation conversation.    Don't be shy.  There is too much at stake.

I'd like to see you keep your teeth!  And I am sure your dentist and hygienist would like to see that as well.

What You Should Know About Gum Disease - A Layman's Guide To Figthing Gum Disease

You can easily find this book by typing:

http://WhatYouShouldKnowAboutGumDisease.com into your browser.

should know about gum diseaseThis is the book that got me moving in the direction that you have seen ToothyGrinsStore.com take.
Given that this problem is so very prevalent and so few people understand it, I guess I took it as a personal mission to start educating people.

I knew it was going to be a hard road.  But, I still thought that people should know about this.
I ran into a doctor that told me, "prevention doesn't pay".     I knew at that moment that what I was trying to do was going to have some tough obstacles.

There have been dentists that have tried to educate the masses in the past.  Despite their efforts, they remain relatively unknown by the general public.

The public remains relatively ignorant about what gum disease is and what they can do to try and prevent it.  Their is an equal or greater level of ignorance regarding what can be done to fight this problem, mitigate it and even have the periodontal tissue become healthy again!

Gum disease is a billion dollar + industry.  I have no idea how much is made from this problem but a billion per year would be relatively conservative in my estimation.   It's probably far more than that.

Have you ever been to a periodontist's (a dentist who specializes in gum disease / health) waiting room?    It's usually quite full!    The people that have this problem don't talk about it - even though "most people"  have it whether they know so or not.

Dental professionals generally say  that about 3 out of every 4 people have it.   That is 75% of people in case you were wondering.   Gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss.  How many people have lost teeth, obtained dentures or implants and still are ignorant of the fact that their tooth loss was caused by gum disease?

Will they go on to lose more teeth?   It's difficult to fix what you don't know about, isn't it?

These are some of the reasons that I wrote the book:   What You Should Know About Gum Disease.  ISBN:    978-0981485508

Do You Have Gum Disease?

I am going to assume that if you are reading this you already know you have gum disease.   After all, why would someone bother to read this if they did not, right?

The sad reality is that MOST people have gum disease.  Dental health professionals tell us that about 75% of people have some right now.   That's 3 out of every 4.

Therefore, if you know you have gum disease, you are not alone.  It's just that most of the other people that have it don't know yet!   They probably won't find out until a tooth becomes loose or it is time for an expensive treatment or surgery.

In a way, you can be glad that you know you have it, because now you can start to do something about it.  Many other people aren't going to find out until things get bad, unfortunately.  That's just the way it seems to work.

One Possible Way To Solve This Problem

Anyone who says they have something that will work 100% of the time for 100% of the people is lying.  You can't trust someone like that.

But, I do know of something that has helped a lot of people.  The best part about it is that you can have your dentist verify your results.

How To Know When It Works

This is the fun part because it is more objective than subjective.   You just need to know your periodontal pocket depths.   This is a measurement that your dentist or hygienist will take around each tooth.

Generally speaking, most dental professionals will say your gums are healthy at 3mm and below and unhealthy at above that mark.   Therefore, you will know your gums are back to a more healthy state when you get all of those readings to 3mm and below.

How To Give This A Shot

The device that I have personally experience with, and thousands of my customers do as well, is the Hydro Floss Oral Irrigator.      It works rather well for a LOT of people.  You can read about it, and customer reviews as well, at that link.

You simply use your Hydro Floss twice per day with 2 reservoirs per use for a minimum of 1 month.  Then go back to your dentist and find out what your measurements are.   If those readings are headed in the right direction, then you know you are onto something.  Your dentist can verify your results in this objective way for you!

Of course, you may have additional questions about this simple plan.   If you do, just go ahead and give us a call at 1-888-586-6849.   There is no obligation and your questions about this can be answered.

If you have gum disease, take action.  The reason why is that it probably won't get better unless you do something about it.   Gum disease often leads to tooth loss.  It is the number one cause, in fact.

What You Should Know About Gum Disease

What You Should Know About Gum Disease is a book that I published in 2008.   It is over 200 pages.   However, the first 4 chapters will give you the bulk of the information that I think you need and should definitely read.

I first became interested in this topic somewhere around 2005 or 2006 when my dentist and hygienist suggested that I needed an expensive a possibly painful treatment (after the anesthetic wore off) treatment called a Scaling and Root Planing or SRP  treatment.

I sure didn't like the sound of that.   My dentist actually told me that it was the only thing that would help.   I decided that I needed to test that theory.

It took some trial and error but I found something that really worked.   I found other things that helped, but there was one thing in particular that REALLY helped.

Dentist Visibly Surprised

My dentist was quite surprised.  She seemed to have trouble believing the change in my periodontal (gum) health.   She eventually said, "Ok, whatever you are doing, keep it up.  You don't need that treatment any longer."     I was, of course, delighted.

Three out of Every For People Have Gum Disease

This is what many dental professionals say.  I thought a book like mine would be very valuable to people.   I've discovered that most people are unwilling to consider the possibility that they have gum disease.  Some won't even believe it, or they were not told, when they lose teeth and need dentures and / or implants.

You see, gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss.   There is nothing else that comes close.   Yet, people will lose some their teeth and still not realize they have it.   That is truly a tragedy.

Education Is The Key

If what many dentists say is true and three out of every four people really do have gum disease, what are the odds that you or someone you love has this problem.    You see, this book has great value for you and your family.   Every family should have a copy of this book, in my opinion.   Yes, I am the author, but it doesn't change reality.     With so many people facing this problem and still unaware, it seems to me this book could really help a lot of people.  That includes possibly yourself and those whom you love!

Here is a picture of the book:

I think it is really funny that I wrote : How To Stop Gum Disease In 3 Easy Steps - as you see in the video, when in fact, the title is:  How To Stop Gum Disease In 4 Easy Steps!

That's what happens when you don't spend as much time editing your posts as  you should.

On the other hand, the meaning of the information is what is important.  Of secondary importance is correct grammar or spelling, right?    Sorry, if you are a grammar and spelling stickler.   :)   But I care about you and your teeth anyway - even if you do criticize me!

As stated in the video, you may not know much about this topic.  I offer a free, no-obligation conversation to talk about what might be helpful to you.  I speak in general terms.  You should, of course be under the care of a good dentist or preferably, a periodontist, if your gums bleed while brushing and flossing.

Why Do Your Gums Bleed When Brushing Or Flossing Your Teeth?

Excellent question.  There are other reasons why your gums will bleed while brushing and flossing but the most likely cause is gum disease.  Of course, you will want a good periodontist or dentist to verify that for you and give you a professional diagnosis.

Gum disease is a rather serious problem that many people remain dangerously ignorant of.
Gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss.   It is also the primary reason that teeth are lost and dentures or implants are needed.

Brushing and Flossing Twice Or More Time Per Day

It's quite a contradiction, isn't it?   We are told to brush and floss, yet 3 out of every 4 people, according to many dental professionals, still have gum disease!   Wow.  how does that work?

Using basic logic, it must mean that while brushing and flossing are very helpful, perhaps they are not enough for most people?  If they were enough, would so many people have gum disease?

Then the question becomes what else can you do to stop the progression of gum disease or prevent it in the first place?

What Should You Do When You Have Missing Teeth?

The most important thing to understand is that you cannot leave things the way they are when you have a missing tooth.

That tooth worked in opposition to another tooth.   With a hole there, the other teeth will start to shift around.  This could (will most likely) over time, throw your bite of.

That in turn will create uneven wear on your teeth.    That is just one small problem that can (most likely) happen.

Therefore it is important that you either get an implant or a denture.   Implants can be quite expensive and dentures are not usually cheap either.   Then there is the daily care involved.

You can talk over with your dentist or implantologist about what the costs and benefits / disadvantages of each are.

But do not leave a hole where a tooth used to be, this can cause many problems.   It is important to get that fixed up right away.

Don't Lose Any More Teeth

The most common cause of tooth loss is gum disease.  More teeth are lost to gum disease than anything else.   It is tragic because many people have gum disease and have no idea that they have it.  No one has really explained what is going on to them.

Dentists and hygienists probably see diseased gum tissue every day.   Patients just do not fully understand what they are headed for.

Therefore, you should consider learning as much as you can about prevention and possibly stopping the progression of gum disease as soon as possible.

I guess that you would agree (I sure hope so) that you should do everything you can to save your remaining teeth.

In addition to seeing your dentist as soon as possible, here are some resources for you to learn from:

What Should You Do If Your Gums Bleed?

First thing you should do is call a periodontist and schedule an appointment.

Bleeding gums are often a sign of gum disease.  Your periodontist can confirm that for you.

Gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss.   Unfortunately, many or even most people have some gum disease right now.    Dental professionals often cite the rate at about 75% or 3 out of every 4 people.

Since bleeding gums are a classic sign of this problem, you definitely want to get checked out right away with your dentist or periodontist.

Some additional resources that you might find valuable are:

I remember one woman that I talked to told me that she wakes up with blood in her mouth every day.  That is an extreme example, but even if your gums bleed while brushing and flossing, you probably have a problem that should be addressed right away.

Chewing Tobacco Warning

A follower on twitter sent me a picture of the bottom of a certain chewing tobacco brand's box:

The warning says:   Warning:  This Product Can Cause Gum Disease and Tooth Loss

I thought that was a cool picture.   I won't post it here because I'm sure all the brands are required to do the same thing.   I am not interested in picking on one brand.

Clearly, the entire industry was required by law to post those warnings.  They sure wouldn't do it voluntarily.

Instead, I'm interested in spreading the word about preventing and stopping gum disease.   Most people have some anyway, whether they know it or not.

Gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss.

There are things you can do to prevent it and arrest its progress and there are things you can do to make it worse - as the above example shows.

The vast majority of tooth loss in the world is due to gum disease.

Gum disease causes tooth loss.

Shouldn't you learn more about this problem?   If most people have it - 3 out of every 4 according to many dental professionals, shouldn't you be learning what you can do to reduce or stop it?

What do you think?  Let's start a dialog on this.
