Mt Athos in Greece

Mt Athos ( I think) The peninsula that this mountain sits on is the home of about 2,000 monks in Greece. They are orthodox christians. Almost the entire peninsula is effectively a separate nation. You need a special visa to visit. Only 110 people are allowed per day (100 of which must be orthodox Greek males. No women are allowed there at all (not for any reason). There are over 20 monasteries on the Peninsula. Over the last 1800 years the monks were kind enough to build most of them on the sea shore. That's good for Greece's tourism. We will take a boat tour near the shore of this area to see some of the monasteries - since you cannot visit without a special visa that must be requested a few months ahead of your visit. And of course, Bianca would not be allowed anyway.
