The problem with this approach is that most chewing gum provides a temporary fix at best. It uses the method of covering one odor for another - that of the gum.
Did you know that there is a chewing gum that is actually designed to attack the cause of bad breath? It uses a special peroxide to deliver oxygen. In addition, it raises the pH of the mouth.
These two actions combined have a powerful effect on the 'bad bacteria' that cause bad breath.
These bad bacteria don't like oxygen. So give it to them. The oxygen will either cause them to die out or it will cause them to revert to another form of metabolism that will involve less smelly waste byproducts. In either case, it is a win for you.
The pH balance is also helpful because the 'bad bacteria' like acid. So, by driving the pH higher, it makes the environment less suitable for them to exist in.
Isn't this approach much better than attempting to cover one smell with another? Why not attack the cause of bad breath for a stronger and longer impact?
