Apple's Failure To Honor My Apple Care Protection Plan

This is an update to the ongoing drama - well actually it is the end of the drama

If you want to catch up, read the first post and the second post.
apple care protection plan not honored
This is the final post in this series (I think so anyway).    Bottom line, Apple will not honor the protection plan that I purchased for $350 less than 3 years ago.

This brings the total cost of my MBP bought in October 2010 to about $3500.  Not only did I pay for the protection plan, but I also had to pay for the repair (about $300) that they failed to honor under the protection plan.

At this time, I still have about 54 days left on the plan.   But, they will not honor it.

They did offer to give me an 'apple store credit'  as an 'appeasement' (their words).   The credit was good for one item only and that item could not exceed the cost of the repair.

Basically. I could get an IPOD touch 16MB and that's about it. (costs are higher in the German Apple Store)

After thinking it over, I declined their offer.

I paid for that protection plan and they should not look for ways to get out of honoring that service.

But you can read the first post to learn what their excuse was.  You can read the second post to learn about the run around I was given.

These are the facts.  I have attempted to leave the emotion out of it.

apple would not honor the apple care protection plan. Sincerely,

(apple care let me down - Snape)
