X-rays are a diagnostic tool that virtually every dentist will definitely say they need.
There is little doubt that they are important. It allows them to see what is going on 'under the surface' - at least a little better.
So, don't be too harsh on your dentist about x-rays.
On the other hand, I once met an X-ray tech who developed cancer. I just don't want you to think I am making everything sound rosy.
Their is virtually no way to know if that tech's cancer was influenced by his profession or not. I know that.
Just throwing that out there.
