Changing A Bad Habit

Habit change is a topic that many people struggle with.   How do you change something that you kind of automatically do?

Some habits are very unhealthy.  Some are just annoying.  In either case it is obvious that something needs to change or at the very least SHOULD change.   And you know it...

But some habits are very stubborn.

Not all types of bad habits can benefit from what I'm going to tell you about.  But some can.

If you could give yourself periodic reminders, would that help your bad habit?  I don't know.  But maybe it can.

For example, let's say you are a computer worker who never stops working.  You stare at the screen for hours on end to the point that it has become a bad habit.

If you had a little buzzer on your belt that went off every 30 minutes to remind you to take a quick break and look away from your computer, would something like that be helpful?

Of course, your habit or habits may not be this one, but if having such periodic reminders would benefit you in breaking a habit, would it be worth it?

The benefit of the buzzer is that no one else knows it is going off.   It vibrates and only you are aware of it.   It's not a sound that others can hear.   It's a vibration that you are aware of only because the device is touching your body.

You can change the intervals to whatever you want them to be.

This is the device I'm talking about:

Whether you have used something like this to break a bad habit or if you have another method that you have successfully used, it would be cool if you could share it here on this page.   Just use the comment section below.
