How Much Money Do Dentists Earn?

I found these statistics on the ADA's website.  (American Dental Association).

The annual NET income for dentists who owned part or all of their practice was around $190,000 per year for general denitsts and around $305,000 per year for specialists.  (these stats come out of report created in 2009)

I'm sure that situations vary widely for individual dentists.  I think we were meant to take this as some type of average.    It's always difficult to perceive the accuracy or relative accuracy of any statistic.

Never the less, these are NET figures and not gross.    This, of course, would mean that the average dentist earns far more than the average person or patient that he or she might be treating.

If you would like to read this information for yourself, I found it here.

If you are a dentist who is reading this, I am curious to ask:  Do you feel that this large economic difference puts you somewhat out of touch with the economic realities of your patients and their ability to pay for your services?

What do you as an average person or a dental professional think about these stats?

Comments or thoughts are welcome from all in the comment area below.

Who Is Dr. Michael T Allen?

Dr. Allen is a dentist who's office is located at 419 N Church St in Thomaston, GA 30286.

The office telephone number is:  +1 706-647-7111

Dr. Allen is a general dentist.

If you need a dentist in Thomaston, GA.  Dr. Allen may be your man.   I have not personally used the services of Dr. Allen.

However, I have spoken with some of his staff - most notably Jennifer.   It does sound to me like there is a very patient and service oriented approach there.

PPS: prevention can also help a lot in reducing an individual's or family's health care costs.  My favorite prevention tool.
