Do You Know A Good Dentist?

I am asked this question frequently enough that I decided I better do something about this question.

You see, I have only been personally treated by probably less than a dozen dentist in my lifetime.  Of those, MOST are dentists that I would not honestly be able to recommend. 

However, I have also encountered a few really good dentists on that list.   So, I can't personally recommend a dentist to everyone who asks - because they live in different parts of the country from me.

So, I thought it would be a good idea to post about good dentists.   I won't post the negatives because it just isn't worth it.   But, posting about good dentists is a great idea - because the bad ones will be left out be default!

However, I need your help - because as I stated before, I have only been treated by about a dozen or so dentists in my lifetime.

So, please help out those people looking for a good dentist.  

Here is what we need: 

If you know a good dentist, please include the dentist's name, practice location, office address and phone number (if possible).  Tell us why you think this dentist is a great dentist.  What has your experience been? 

To help prevent false reviews from marketing companies, we will have to require your name as well.  People will want to know that you stand behind your words.   Your name and city will be sufficient for this purpose.

No negative comments here.  We are here to post information about good dentists and not the bad ones.    The bad will be left out be default!

Downey California Dentist, Michael C Duncker Now Offering LANAP Procedure To Patients

Dr.  Duncker is now offering LANAP treatment to his patients.

Hopefully Dr. Duncker fully supports prevention and his educating his patients so that they may never need this procedure done.

A good dentist will certainly report to his patients the depth of their periodontal pockets on every office visit.   This is a key indicator in the diagnosis of gum disease. 

You will know when you are in danger with these numbers, so it is important that your hygienist or dentist tell you what these numbers are.  You don't want to be surprised by an expensive treatment, do you? 

If you dentist's office is currently providing these numbers to you, be sure to ask them on every visit.  By staying on top of the problem of gum disease, you can avoid a lot of expensive hassles down the road.  

The cost of dental surgery in the US, as I am sure you are probably aware or can guess, is quite high.  If you can manage to keep your gums healthy through prevention you can save yourself a lot of money over the remaining  decades / years of your life.

I first found out about Dr. Tate Vo due to her comment my post on brushing with baking soda here on this site.

She practices in Rochester,  New York.

It looks like she won a 2012 'Talk of the Town' Customer satisfaction award! 


It's interesting to me that she and her hygienist work on 1 patient at a time.  It sounds like that means there are no long stays in the waiting room.   That would be fantastic for any patient.

The name of her practice is DenTate Smile Designs.  If you are looking for a better smile, perhaps Dr. Vo is the right dentist for you?

It appears that she was heavily influenced by her mother's dental practice when she was growing up.  Based on what I can gather from her website, it looks like she may be a truly caring dentist who also cares about prevention and doing right by the patient.

It is not always easy to find a good dentist.   I don't know Dr. Vo personally, so I can't vouch for her  - but if I were looking for a good dentist in the Rochester area, she would definitely be on my list to check out. 

Reading through her website gave me a wealth of clues that she might be a very good and conscientious dentist.   I am always happy to meet a dentist like that. 

Caring about patients goes a lot deeper than just the surface.  To me, it means the dentist is going to do what is best for the patient, not what is best for the dentist.

I think Dr. Vo is definitely worth checking out.
