I bring this up because one customer told me that those ultaviolet devices for disinfecting are susceptible to mold. That doesn't surprise me. Ultraviolet light is supposed to be good for plants. So, it seems that mold wouldn't mind it much either.
Anyway, you may have better luck using ozonated water to clean your toothbrush.
Ozone is 5 times more powerful than molecular chlorine for killing bacteria, and viruses. At a microscopic level, ozone has been seen blasting holes through bacteria cell membranes. Interesting indeed!
So, it seems likely that it will really help you to keep the levels of bacteria on your toothbrush to lower levels!
