My Comments - Study Suggest Selling Wine In Larger Glasses Causes People To Drink More.

Hilarious!

You can read the full article here:

Without intending to be snarky, it kind of seems obvious, doesn't it?

I predict the same thing would happen if they were studying coffee or even energy drinks.

Perhaps that's why NY thought it was a good idea to limit soft drink sizes.   I would guess the same logic applies.

However, regardless of how much we are drinking and eating, it is important to take care of our teeth.

The more acidic the food or drink, the more urgent it is to rebalance that pH in the mouth as soon as possible.

This is because the bad bacteria love an acidic environment, it helps them to multiply more rapidly.

Swishing the mouth with pH balanced or higher pH water  or  a little bit of milk might be helpful in
this regard.

The Gums Count

The same concept on acid applies to the bad bacteria that cause gum disease.  Higher pH and oxygen seem to be two ways to curb the growth of these bacterial populations.

Wine is usually acidic.  Energy drinks as well.  Coffee is VERY acidic.

When talking about dental or oral health, we should  consider focusing our emphasis on the health of the gums.

The reason why is because gum disease is, by far, the greatest cause of tooth loss in the world today.

Keeping gums healthy should be a priority.   Just pop into the waiting room of a periodontist's office (dentists who specialize in gum health / disease) and you'll quickly realize there is a huge industry there!

Gum disease afflicts, according to many dental health professionals, about 75% of the population.  That's 3 out of every 4 people.

I believe the HydroFloss is a useful tool in helping to keep the gums healthy..   In fact, it helped me to make my gums healthy again when they weren't.   That was about 11 years ago and I still have all of my teeth (except the wisdom teeth that were pulled when I was in the Navy in my early twenties)
