The pay back deal apparently allowed The Smiley Dental Clinic to pay without admitting to any wrongdoing.
This may be a new and interesting trend in which state Medicaid systems begin to get paid back on some of the 'questionable' charges to the system out there. The article mentions that other clinics are paying back as well.
Meanwhile
In the meantime, there are plenty of people in the US that can't get the quality dental care they need due to lack of funds. It is sad to hear about possible abuses to the system when there are so many that go without needed dental care.
I don't think the right answer is for States or even Medicaid to pay for everything either. That burden would just fall on the tax payer. It would add to the problems that already exist!
So, what is the right answer to this problem? You tell me, how can more people have access to the dental care they need without burdening tax payers further? Any answers?
Sincerely,
David Snape
