I can tell you that this is not a very nice thing to say to your hygienist.In fact, it is completely wrong. Your hygienist actually is doing you a big favor when she cleans your teeth.
In fact, dental hygienists are the unsung heroes of dental health care and prevention.
Your gums should not bleed during a normal dental cleaning and check up.
Maybe a very tiny amount. Maybe
But, if you are getting a lot of blood and she is filling up gauze strip after strip, that is NOT a good sign.It probably means you have gum disease. Your dentist will be able to tell you if that is the case.
Most people do have some gum disease, unfortunately.
